Welcome to Samtaler

Samtaler is a UK social value agency founded in Scotland in 2017.

We believe the successful businesses of the future will be the ones who understand, and serve, the needs of all their stakeholders and create value for society.

We want to put social value at the heart of every business.

Who we are?

We believe the private sector is the economy’s lifeblood, but making money and doing the right thing should not be mutually exclusive.

We help businesses understand what social value means for them and the practical things they need to do to serve the needs of all their stakeholders.

Your work has totally transformed the way we have been thinking about [social value]…It’s a complete step change for us in the UK and abroad. A lot will happen due to your work and input - that is because you elegantly and carefully helped us prepare for a chance approach and gave us one we could deliver.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • There are many different reasons why our clients require our services. All companies' needs are different, and our solutions are bespoke and tailored to your requirements. So whether you are bidding for a public sector contract or building a large infrastructure project and want to ensure you create community benefits. We will have a solution for you.

  • Because how your company behaves towards society and whether or not it considers the needs of all its stakeholders is an essential part of doing good business. Successful companies of tomorrow will embed sustainability into all their processes and systems. They are making efforts to maximise their positive impact on society and minimise the adverse impact of their activities.

  • Yes! We work on a limited number of projects each year in the public sector. We believe in the power of procurement to make things better for communities. Much of our work in this sector is subsidised or pro bono.

  • We have a wide range of services and will work with you to understand your needs and develop a plan that works with your budget. Our fees are calculated on a project-by-project basis. Unlike other consultancies, we do not work at day rates. Instead, we assess your needs, estimate how much time a solution will require to deliver and agree on a fixed fee with you to deliver it. Once a price is approved, we guarantee it won't change unless the scope changes dramatically. If that were to happen, we would discuss it with you and agree on any changes before continuing. We work hard to make our customers happy, ensuring we deliver the service you need on time and within budget.

We know that not everyone will be able to work with us. So we share our knowledge and expertise for free via our social channels and newsletter, The Social Value Files.

  • Because we believe the social value you create should align with your strategic and economic goals. It might be tempting to find a ‘social value checklist’ to tick off, but meaningful and lasting social value creation should be as unique as your company, culture, community and aims.

We focus on the practical things you can do to create social value and the processes and systems you need to adapt inside your organisation to deliver on your commitments.

  • Samtaler means ‘conversation’ in Danish. We chose it as the name for the company because having conversations is essential to creating social value - you can’t find out what stakeholders want without asking them. So much of what we do is talking to people, connecting the dots, and finding ways to make things happen.

We know that getting started is the hardest part.
That’s where we come in.

We identify opportunities that benefit your business and society and help you implement them.
We are not here to tell you what to do but to show you the way.

Are you ready?
