MARKETING AND COMMUNICATIONS EXECUTIVE/MANAGER

Want to join a fast-paced growing company and make a difference? We’re looking for an experienced marketing and communications professional with an understanding of social value and sustainability.

Location: Homebased role - must live in the UK

Salary: £32,000 – £38,000 per annum (dependent on experience)

Contract: Full time, permanent, 37.5 hours per week, full flexible, Monday to Friday. Our standard working hours are 9-5.30, Mon-Fri with 1 hour break, which can be flexed as required. We would also consider reduced hours for the right candidate.

  • Reporting into our Business Manager, the successful candidate will design and deliver marketing and communications activity that maintain Samtaler’s position as a leading provider of social value expertise; generating new qualified leads and, ultimately, new customers.  Samtaler is known as a thought leader in the increasingly important field of Social Value. We are looking for a passionate, creative marketing professional who can use a wide range of channels and techniques to help to help amplify our voice.

    • Design and deliver a range of communication activity to promote Samtaler’s products and services and raise awareness of best practice in social value. 

    • Manage Samtaler’s social media presence across all our accounts including LinkedIn, Instagram and Twitter.  Responsible for all content creation; scheduling of posts, reporting on metrics and advising on strategy.

    • Make updates to our website.

    • Work in partnership with our SEO team to generate new content and marketing activity in line with their recommendations.

    • Produce our monthly and weekly newsletters: the ‘Social Value Files’ and ‘Weekly News Update’, including co-writing original content with our team of consultants.

    • Conduct customer & market research to develop new marketing ideas.

    • Conduct regular competitor analysis and produce quarterly competitor reviews

    • Branding – acting as the main point of contact for branding related requirements including supporting consultants with creation of templates for slide decks, proposals and other pieces of work product.

    • Database management – managing and updating our CRM system (currently hosted on HubSpot) - training can be provided if required.

    • Podcast Production – Coordinate and manage production of our monthly podcast ‘Let’s Talk Social Value’.  Included researching and booking guests, helping prepare interview questions, liaison with our external podcast editor and external promotion of episodes (in conjunction with our external PR support).

    • Coordinate PR activity and manage relationship with our external PR agency.

    • > 5 years B2B marketing and communication experience – ideally with a focus on digital and influencer marketing/thought leadership.

    • Self-starter who is able to work independently, enjoying driving change and delivering results in a fast-paced entrepreneurial environment

    • Someone who is passionate about their contribution to the overall business.

    • Friendly and kind, and a hard worker. We’re a small team and we value kindness and compassion. 

    • Flexible, resilient and adaptable – we need someone who isn’t phased if or when things don’t go their way, or if projects are out-with your normal skill set.

    • Competent in a range of digital communication and project management tools such as Squarespace (or similar), HubSpot, Social Pilot, Asana (training can be provided).

    • A good eye for design; able to use tools like Canva to create a wide range of sales material.

    • Excellent writing skills; copywriting experience would be an advantage.

    • A good communicator; ‘Samtaler’ means conversations and communication is key for us!
